Busy Little Bee

Last week I was inspired by Mary over at CardzTV to make an easel card for a Paper Playtime Challenge.  I'd seen them on so many blogs and never got around to making one.  I'm not sure why I held off - it was so easy and is a neat little surprise for the recipient!  I will definitely be making more in the future.

I cut the bee at 2.5 inches and added glossy accents to his wings, stinger and tips of his antenna.  The blue strip behind him is dry embossed, then the raised parts were colored with my new watermark pen.

Thanks for looking!

Pretty in Paris

I made this card tonight for my mom.  I saw my new pack of October Afternoon stamps sitting on my desk and thought I'd try a scene card.  I used my distress ink tool and some post it masks to create the background, then stamped and embossed the Eiffel Tower in the middle.  The stamp had a few lines at the bottom to make it look like bushes, and it didn't quite go with the smooth grass so I drew on some extra bushes to even it out.  I think it turned out pretty well for a first try.

Thanks for looking!

National Scrapbook Day Cards

Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything!  Oops....

Here are some of the cards I created on National Scrapbook Day.

A wonderful new Pea friend of mine hosted a crop at her house and I had tons of fun trying out new things with her punches, stamps and such.  The cards have lots of glitter and dimension, but of course it doesn't show well in the photo.

Enjoy!
